The First Day

FORWARD - Being that there was no assigned activity for the evening, this post might be a little different from the rest:

Day One......The drive was nice, pretty much a straight shot; nothing too eventful about that. We arrived at around 4, only to be greeted by rain (at least it's better than the snow we left back in NY). After we got our things from The Washington Center, we went to our room and met our roommates (who btw, very cool people). The room though, AMAZING. Think of an apartment but dormitory style- 2 bedrooms on the sides and a common room, kitchen, washing machine, pretty much everything you can think of and then some more....(except no shower curtains-haha..thankfully we got that fixed tho). After that, we were pretty much left with an evening to ourselves. And of course, whats a better thing to do in a new city then to explore on your first night.

The train seemed a little out of place; something like a mix between the F train and the Air-Train, except with seat cushions (Theres no way something like that could ever be placed in a New York Subway system). We went in search of food in the downtown area, about a half an hour trip from where are staying. The surroundings seemed pretty decent, except its somewhat hard to tell when mostly everything is closed for the night. Maybe we'll have better luck next time. Despite the closings tho, it was still a pretty enjoyable evening.

Well, being that tomorrow is an early day as well as the real start to the program, I think I'll end this here and get some rest.
